Chisels and curettes
Our range includes a variety of chisels and curettes, which are for various dental applications These instruments offer outstanding performance and precision thanks to their high-quality design and construction.
We carry various models such as Lucas and Gracey.
Gracey curettes are designed for specific areas of the tooth. They were originally developed as finishing curettes for fine scaling and root planing. Each Gracey blade is offset by 70° and has only one cutting edge - the lower edge. The combination of this unique blade and 9 different shaft designs for specific tooth surfaces provides improved conformance and deposit removal during scaling procedures. The angle of the blade allows for easy insertion into the sulcus and minimizes tissue trauma. With a 3 mm longer end shaft, this instrument can be used for cleaning and root planing in pockets of 5 mm or deeper. They are named after their inventor, Dr. Clayton Gracey.
Gracey curette models and use:
- Gracey 1/2: Ideal for subgingival plaque removal in the molar area.
- Gracey 3/4: Specially developed for subgingival cleaning in the premolar area.
- Gracey 5/6: Suitable for subgingival plaque removal in the anterior tooth area.
- Gracey 7/8: Designed for subgingival cleaning at the roots of the front teeth.
- Gracey 9/10: Optimal for cleaning the root surfaces in the posterior teeth area.
- Gracey 11/12: Suitable for subgingival plaque removal at the roots of posterior teeth.
- Gracey 13/14: Designed for cleaning hard-to-reach root surfaces.
- Gracey 15/16: Specifically designed for cleaning root surfaces with specific requirements.
- Gracey 17/18: Ideal for cleaning root surfaces with particularly close placement.
The gold coating on the "Gold models" offers additional durability and corrosion resistance:
The Mini-Gracey curettes are specially designed for use in tight spaces and on small teeth:
Mini Gracey 1/2 to 13/14: These mini curettes are smaller and allow for more precise cleaning in small tooth compartments.
After Five Gracey curettes are specially designed for cleaning after periodontal treatment:
After Five Gracey 1/2 to 13/14 AF curette: These instruments enable thorough cleaning and smoothing of the root surfaces after periodontal treatment.
Lucas curettes are used after an extraction. These curettes allow trimming of the sockets to remove bone, cystic tissue (especially apical granulomas) or granulation tissue in the cleared socket.
Here are the different models:
- Lucas curette figure 84: Designed for subgingival plaque removal and smoothing of root surfaces in the anterior teeth area.
- Lucas curette figure 85: Suitable for cleaning and smoothing the root surfaces in the premolar area.
- Lucas curette figure 86: Ideal for cleaning and smoothing the root surfaces in the posterior teeth area.
- Lucas curette figure 87: Specially developed for subgingival plaque removal and root planing in the molar area.
- Lucas curette figure 88: Designed for cleaning and smoothing root surfaces, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
The designation "serrated" suggests that these curettes have a serrated or ridged surface, which may allow for improved plaque removal.
chisel are cutting instruments used to poke or scrape the enamel to split or split undermined enamel. A triple-angled chisel is used to flatten the pulp floor. Chisels are typically used to remove caries and shape teeth, while curettes are used to remove calculus and clean periodontal pockets.
Each model has been carefully designed to meet the specific needs of dentistry while ensuring comfort and efficiency. All instruments have a CE certification.
